I think that this video was pretty uplifting and inspirational. It’s comforting to hear that successful people aren’t always the smartest, but they become successful because they grow. We learn that we need to give more effort when things get hard and to not give up.

Your definitely right Darla, by saying that successful people aren’t always the smartest people but they can also be the people that strive for success and don’t give up on themselves and learn from there mistakes.

This video not only encouraged me to work harder and not give up on myself, but it also made me want to learn new things and help exercise my brain at the same time. I already have been trying to learn new things everyday on my own time about technological advancements and scientific discoveries that are made all the time, so to see that this actually helps my brain grow is awesome!

      • Amy on September 17, 2015 at 9:50 am

Absolutely! it’s good to know that trying new things exercise our brain.

    • Amy on September 17, 2015 at 9:49 am

This video really inspired me in a way that I know that I need to push myself even harder and never give up. I also think it’s interesting to view the brain as a muscle.

      • Bryan on September 17, 2015 at 9:53 am

and learning and not giving up will exercise that muscle!

    • Bryan on September 17, 2015 at 9:50 am

its interesting to see the difference between both mindsets. i like the idea of growth mindset and not to give up

      • Ashley on September 17, 2015 at 9:58 am

I agree, I never thought there was such a thing either, but now that I know there is it’s definitely better to have a growth mindset ๐Ÿ˜€

      • mil3nium on September 17, 2015 at 10:54 am

I am sure it is good to have such mindset

    • Ashley on September 17, 2015 at 9:54 am

I think growth mindset is interesting, that by simply changing the way you write/speak a sentence you can train your brain so much. I’d definitely rather have a growth mindset than a fixed mindset and i’m glad to discover that i’m not a fixed mindset though I do know some people who are and I hope for them that they want to change as the world seems so much more interesting if you open up, with a growth mindset you can! ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree! It’s about changing the way you do things and growing as an individual!

      • Darla on September 17, 2015 at 10:07 am

Yes, I found that part of the video very interesting!

I believe a growth mindset is something we can all ignite by reminding ourselves that it is solely progress and improvement that counts. I remind myself that it’s okay if I don’t succeed the first time, as I grow from my mistakes, which then allows me to succeed the next time. This video is quite inspiring, as it reminds us that truly anyone can do great things in life; all you have to do is put your mind to it. I know a lot of individuals with fixed mindests; many of my classmates always say they can’t do a certain thing because they “aren’t smart.” However, it’s not that they can’t do it, it’s that they can’t do it… YET. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Adrianna on September 17, 2015 at 10:51 am

also sometimes , its that they wont do it! But its good that you don’t give up ๐Ÿ™‚

I think that a growth mindset is very helpful for when you want to achieve goals. Without consistency and without failure, you can never GROW.
I learn from my mistakes, and I consider failure as a good thing. Academically, I believe I partially have a fixed mindset as I’ve always had high grades. So, when I’d have a grade lower than 90%, I’d frown upon it, but then I try to realize my mistake and what I can do better next time.
This video is very inspiring. Steve Jobs, himself, is very inspirational and I have been listening to his speeches for quite awhile now. I absolutely love him (and may he R.I.P.)
I believe that one of sisters have a fixed mindset. She doesn’t really quite learn from her mistakes and makes excuses. So, I’d tell her that she wouldn’t be capable to grow without learning and always giving up. She must continue, despite failures, in order to achieve goals.

I didn’t know that your brain can actually get bigger if you use it/ know more. I thought it was just an expression that people said around here but I guess not! I think the video was very informative and cool!

      • Adrien on September 18, 2015 at 11:37 am

I honestly didn’t know your brain could physically get bigger either but it’s definitely cool!

    • Joelle on September 17, 2015 at 10:51 am

this video just goes to show how important it is to practice and never give up… as they say “every champion was once a rookie” it applies to school, sports, work.. WHATEVER ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Alexandra on September 17, 2015 at 10:51 am

I think that it is very interesting and that put that way, it seems easy to train your brain, even though it takes some time!!

      • Sara on September 17, 2015 at 10:55 am

i agree with you Alexandra training your brain will take some time but it will be all worth it in the end :)!!

    • Sam K. on September 17, 2015 at 10:52 am

This is a very inspiring video that shows that no one has a bad bran we can all train our brains so we can be come stronger and smarter.

      • Flavie on September 17, 2015 at 10:55 am

I totally agree with you, there is no such thing as having a bad brain, or not being smart

    • Sara on September 17, 2015 at 10:53 am

i think having a growth mindset is very important in life like the short video has mentioned without effort you will not achieve much you have to put your heart and mind to work in order to achieve your goals. practices makes it perfect :)!

    • Flavie on September 17, 2015 at 10:53 am

I think this is encouraging because, it is absolutely true that you have to work hard to achieve your goal. Its by working hard and practicing that you will get better results ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Feno on September 17, 2015 at 10:58 am

This video was and really inspiring. To me it meant something, especially because I like trying new things, but often times I get frustrated and undetermined. This video makes me realize that it is possible to learn and do whatever I want so long as I put my mind to it. I CAN train my brain to work better and learn more.

      • Simon Lapierre on September 22, 2015 at 6:59 am

You mud never get discouraged. No matter what the mental effort is, you can always improve your mind. That will allow you to succeed. Trying new things is an excellent way to do this as it forces your mind to confront new concepts, improving your capacity to understand.

    • Simon Lapierre on September 17, 2015 at 11:04 am

I believe growth mindset is indeed useful, and proves that we can improve our minds simply by learning new things. It also shows that even though you may find certain things you learn less useful, you are still improving your mind, which will allow you to learn things you find useful with ease. I believe I have a “growth mindset”.

    • Adrien on September 18, 2015 at 11:36 am

I really enjoyed this video, it’s pretty cool how some of the most successful people in this world aren’t necessarily the smartest. They prove that you can achieve your dreams if you believe in them and put in lots of effort! This video is very inspiring, I think more people should watch it!

      • Danielle on September 20, 2015 at 12:13 pm

You are so right Adrien, it is pretty cool that the most successful people aren’t the smartest. Life is about working hard and achieving your dreams.
