According to the Digital Learning Day website, today, February 1, is ” a celebration of innovative teaching and learning through digital media and technology that engages students and provides them with a rich, personalized educational experience.” Definitely something worth celebrating!
At LEARN, every day is Digital Learning Day! From our online platform, to our use of blogs (see links on the Blogroll) and microblogging (Twitter), to Google docs and Prezis, to Voicethread and ExploreLearning, students are engaged in learning using amazing technology at their disposal in online classes.
In September, I asked a few students who were taking LEARN courses for the second year, what advice they would give to students taking courses online for the first time. Here are some insights from Emilie:
Mrs. Drolet recommended this great blog post about the value of social networking for our children.
Enjoy and feel free to add your comments.
Online secondary 5 Science Math student, Mikayla, has been accepted into University of Ottawa for their Bachelor of Human Rights program, starting in September. Congratulations!!!
Does anyone else have good news regarding plans for next year???
Students and teachers are back from holidays and everyone seems rested and ready to work.
Parents are reminded to please send in signed media permission forms as soon as possible.
We wish you all a healthy and happy 2012!
Welcome to our Online Learning blog!
This blog was created to establish a direct link with families of students taking online courses.
We will provide information about online courses, links to resources that might be useful to online students and their families, examples of student work and celebrations of success. As the blog develops, you will see things change and grow.
Stay tuned and feel free to comment on what you see.
